Claudia Schmidt, RP (Qualifying) provides psychotherapy to adults. She works with a range of client concerns, including relationship struggles, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, and grief. She believes the struggles we face in our lives and relationships are often caused by interpersonal difficulties and that a deeper exploration of one’s own patterns of relating can help improve the quality of our relationships and lives and relieve somatic symptoms. Forming a trusting professional relationship with a therapist can help us work through issues like these and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. She helps clients identify suitable goals, gain more self-awareness and learn about their relational patterns. Her counselling approach is influenced by psychodynamic theory, and integrates experiential and humanistic elements of psychodrama where applicable. Claudia works with clients in-person and virtually.
Claudia has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She has successfully completed training as a psychodrama practitioner outside of Canada. She is passionate about using humor and creativity in her practice if suitable. She maintains a membership with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She is externally supervised by Jennifer Elder. RP, CCC.
