Laura Ziebell provides psychological services to children, youth and families for difficulties with mood and anxiety problems, low self-esteem, parenting challenges, attention and behavioural difficulties, learning problems, and support with difficult life circumstances. Laura’s approach to therapy is primarily cognitive-behavioural in nature and integrates elements of emotion-focused and systemic perspectives. She takes a collaborative and strengths-focused approach to working with clients to establish goals and develop evidence-based treatments. Laura has a warm, compassionate style and strives to establish authentic and trusting relationships with her clients. She also provides psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents to evaluate learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and gifted status.

Professional Biography

Laura completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Centre for Psychological Services and Research at the University of Ottawa. She has received training in a variety of hospital, school, and community clinic settings in Ottawa. She is currently finishing her doctoral dissertation, after which she will pursue registration as a psychologist in supervised practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She is supervised by Dr. Jacob Kaiserman and Dr. Jennifer Vriend.
