Dr. Julia Ryan is a registered clinical and school psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario providing assessments and interventions to children and adolescents. Dr. Ryan also holds registration in Quebec. She has recently opened her practice to adults, working with peer supervisor, Dr. Jacob Kaiserman. She enjoys working with diverse populations and welcomes clients from various backgrounds.

Dr. Ryan completed her Bachelor’s in Honors Psychology at McGill University and obtained a combined MA/PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2019. She has extensive clinical and research training from a variety of school, hospital, and community settings in Ottawa. Dr. Ryan has several years experience working at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and completed a two year research-based postdoctoral fellowship at Carleton University in 2021. Together, these experiences inform evidence-based, high quality mental health care with expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Autism. Dr. Ryan also assesses for intellectual disorders, giftedness, and behavioral, anxiety and mood disorders, usually in the context of a comprehensive evaluation. Dr. Ryan’s treatment approach is integrative, grounded in evidence-based treatments such as CBT and DBT, and including elements from solution-focused and emotion-focused approaches. She uses a developmental-systems perspective to understand client needs, and emphasizes building strong connections and making clients feel comfortable as the foundation of change. Each treatment program is individually tailored to a patient’s unique circumstances, interests, and goals.
