Dr Karima Lacène C. Psych
Dr. Karima Lacène obtained her Ph.D. and M.Ed. degrees in counselling and school psychology from the University of Alberta, Edmonton. She also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Highest Honours) from Carleton University. Dr. Lacène became a registered psychologist in the province of Alberta in 1999, and worked as a school psychologist for the Edmonton Public School Board.
Dr. Karima Lacène has worked full time as a psychologist at the Centre for Students with Disabilities at Algonquin College since 2003. She works with a diverse population of students, but the majority of students on her caseload have a learning disability and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She provides assessment and counselling services to her students. In addition, she regularly consults with faculty on accommodation and disability issues.
Dr. Lacène provides psycho-educational assessments to children, adolescents and adults in order to evaluate Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), learning disabilities and giftedness. She is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and has maintained a private practice since 2004.
