Dr. Debra Luckow, C.Psych.

Dr. Luckow assesses children and adolescents who experience difficulties in learning, behaviour and/or attention. She also assesses students who are succeeding well at school so that they may have a better understanding of their learning profiles as well as to determine giftedness. She offers practical recommendations to parents and teachers to respond to the child’s learning and behaviour needs, and also educates parents and children on advocacy skills.

Dr. Luckow works consultatively with parents to help them learn more about their child’s learning and behavioural profile and provides parents with strategies to assist in their child’s development.  

Dr. Luckow is available to give public lectures and parent workshops on topics such as learning, behaviour and attention issues in children and adolescents.

Professional Biography

Dr. Luckow completed her B.Sc. in Psychology at McGill University, and both her Master’s in Psychology (M.Ps.) and Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology at Université de Montréal with a research focus on parenting practices. She received her training with a child and adolescent population in hospital, clinic and school settings, including the Douglas Hospital in Montreal and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

Dr. Luckow was registered with the Order of Psychologists of Québec in 1999 and has been registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 2004. She is currently a psychologist at the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Center and a Lecturer for the University of Ottawa’s School of Psychology.
